“Mascarimirì cantano gli UCCI” is an orchestral tribute to the largest male traditional singing formation that existed in Salento (Puglia-Italy) in the seventies - so-called "gli Ucci".
A vast repertoire made up of songs - especially narrative, work, protest - with an emphasis on the Pizzica Pizzica, two-voice drum singing in the so-called "call and response" - is a UNIQUE and unmistakable repertoire. “Mascarimiri sing the Ucci” is a tribute to those times in which shyness reigned in listening to the voice of the elderly man full of knowledge and tastes of Salento singing, with rare melodies, wonderful voices and above all in the purity of finding oneself singing with friends of Always.
